A feature of the Internet allowing users to 'talk', in real time, through a keyboard to one or more persons in a 'virtual environment'. Recent reports of viruses being transmitted through messages in Chat Rooms have raised the security profile of such activities, and organisation's are advised to review the ability of staff to access such facilities.
